There may be a few more weeks left in the summer season—and, no doubt, the warmer weather is sure to stick around for the early weeks of September—but I’m ready for the next season. More specifically, I’m already planning my lineup of fall jackets.

As much as I love wearing the best summer trends and staples—like jorts and linen dresses, to name two—I appreciate the art of putting together a solid, foolproof fall wardrobe. Between the weeks that feel ripe for transitional dressing to the moments when the air is chill and crisp, the right layer, be it a denim trucker or a leather moto, can often be the hero of your look.

Among my usual browsing (for work and play), I’ve been particularly keen on adding a new style or two to my own wardrobe, but I couldn’t let my findings go to waste—so I’ve brought them all together for you to get in on the fun. And between Khaite, Proenza Schouler, COS, and other labels, there are some really good ones to choose from ahead of the change in seasons. Shop them all below.

Proenza Schouler can do no wrong in my eyes, and this jacket is no exception. I love the cropped cut in addition to the chest pockets and pointed collar; it’s a polished update from my go-to leather moto.
